Terms of service

Stray Note is a quiet, anonymous letter exchange. These terms describe the limits that keep it safe and usable.

Using the service

You may send an anonymous letter, receive an available letter in a language you select, and—where offered—send one anonymous return reply. Every letter is delivered once. If no matching letter is available, nothing is delivered and your daily allowance is not used.

Stray Note has no public profiles, follower lists or direct contact exchange. Signing in creates a private account archive; it does not put your identity on a letter. Return replies appear in that archive. We do not send arrival email notifications.

Your responsibilities

You must not use Stray Note to send or request:

Do not treat a letter as verified information, professional advice or an emergency support channel. A sender is anonymous and may be mistaken or dishonest.

Moderation and restrictions

We may automatically screen, refuse, quarantine or remove content. Readers can report and block a sender pairing without learning who the sender is. We may restrict sending, suspend an account or browser identity, pause part of the service, or preserve limited safety records where reasonably necessary.

Moderation is not perfect and availability is not guaranteed. See the safety policy and complaints process for how decisions are handled.

Daily letters, ads and credits

Daily allowances and optional features may change. Where rewarded ads are enabled, completing one qualifying ad can unlock one additional send or receive for that day. It is not a cash balance or transferable credit. Credits currently unlock paper patterns and country preferences; purchases are disabled, and we will update these terms before enabling them.

Accounts and deletion

You are responsible for access to your sign-in account. You can delete the account from account settings. Deletion removes the account and private archive records described in the privacy notice. Anonymous letters are not account records and may remain without an account link for delivery, moderation or legal reasons.

Liability and changes

The service is provided on an as-available basis. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. We may change the service or these terms; material changes will be dated here before they apply.

Contact

The service is operated as Stray Note. Questions or formal complaints can be sent to [email protected]. The governing law and competent courts are those that apply to the operator and any mandatory consumer rights where you live.
